The weekend Pastel Workshops mean that you can have a more relaxed approach to your painting without the pressure of feeling you have to do as much as possible in one day. For those new to the pleasures of using soft pastels, the first day gives you basic knowledge and techniques, and handling and mark making with this very versatile medium. A full weekend workshop gives you the opportunity to achieve a worthwhile and, hopefully, satisfactory painting in the time available. Above all, it is a relaxed and fun weekend !
At the weekend workshops you go home (eventually!) at the end of Saturday, leaving your easel ready to start again on the Sunday. And that’s when the fun starts …….You will be able to start something different, watch a demonstration on how to handle perspectives, or use a limited palette, as well as gleaning some tips from your Tutor, who loves to share his knowledge and experience with his students.
The purpose of these workshops is to help each individual to develop their own pastel painting style using their own choice of subject. They cater for raw beginners as well as those with experience of this most exciting and forgiving of mediums.
The weekend Pastel workshops have come about as a result of popular demand, but in Harbour House, they also cater for individuals who prefer to come for one day only. The sessions are usually limited to 8 students, giving Keith the opportunity to provide more individual tuition and attention. The workshops in Harbour House, Kingsbridge are run exclusively by Keith (01747 852507) and the workshops in Sherborne, Dorset are run and organised by ArtsLink, Sherborne (01935 815899)
